Please note that most of the event takes place at the Google offices, except for the Awards ceremony on 21 June, which will be held in the European Parliament. See here for more details about the location of the venues.
Day 1 – 20 June 2012
08.00 – 08.30 – Registration at the Google offices
08.30 – 09.30 – Technical presentations by engineers, policy and civil society reps.
09.30 – Midnight – Coding
15.30 – 16.00 - Short encouragement and guidance speech by Cory Doctorow
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served to the hackers during the day.
On the 1stday one group of 12 kids (9.00-13.00) and one group of 13 kids (11.45-16.30) will each visit the EUhackathon for half a day to work with the participants and to have a joint lunch at 12.00.
Day 2 – 21 June 2012
02.00 – 06.00 – Rest time: The participants are invited to go to their hotel (500m walk) to get some rest. For the brave, Wi-Fi is available at the hotel free of charge if insomnia strikes.
06.00 – Re-start coding
13.30 – 14.30 – Submission deadline / End of coding / Pitch time: Each participant or team will have the opportunity to briefly (max. 5 min.) present the tool that was built during the EUhackathon.
14.45 – 16.00 – Juries convene behind closed doors
16.15 – 18.00 – Closing ceremony hosted by MEP Sabine Verheyen in the European Parliament
The best projects in the in the two parallel tracks will be presented to the audience and receive an award.
On the 2nd day the group of 25 kids from the 1st day will return at 13.15 to listen to the pitches of the participants and to join the closing ceremony. [/tab] [/tabgroup]
